Danger Rat was Team Gomp's Ludum Dare 48 submission. We made a Downwell-inspired infinite falling game. Since the game was mostly 2D, I spent most of my time making the backgrounds that scroll by behind the play space. I also worked as the head of design and main level designer for the game.
The backgrounds use a post-processing effect that I created, based on my work for Descent of Greed. I set this material up to render objects differently based on their distance from the camera, which allowed for the amazing effect you can see in-game. I then built an interface that the other artists could alter and provided specific details about how to best construct their meshes for use with the effect.
This game required a lot of teamwork to get done, but the final product turned out very well for a 72-hour jam.
