This week I spent a couple of days working on a sea monster, and then made some islands of rock for Bomber's Moon. The sea monster has been good fun, but the rock islands have caused me nothing but trouble. The displacement modifier workflow I used previously is so computationally intensive that my computer can barely handle it. The results look nice (sometimes) but have poor geometry and strange normals so I may need a new approach; possibly by sculpting them.

I made this fun manta-ray monster this week in ZBrush. I used ZSpheres for the basic shape and did a whole bunch of sculpting on top.

Top view of the monster. The nicks in the wings are the only asymmetrical thing about it so far but I think I will add more details like this later on to emphasize its scale.

Close-up of the monster's head. It is currently undefined and unfinished but has some decent shapes.
