For the GMTK game jam 2023, I worked with a small team to make Burn Rubber, a tower-offense game. I worked as the team's artist and was challenged with creating everything seen in the game in just 48 hours. I had a really great time building a few landscape tiles which can be combined in engine to make an endless map. I tried to capture the look of the southwestern US with the color pallet and shapes.
I also built an edge-detection shader in Unity to highlight the shape of the terrain and add visual flair to the game. The shader turned out nicely and I especially enjoy how it highlights the facets of the stylized terrain.
This was also my first time painting a custom skybox. It didn't turn out particularly well, but I learned the process for the first time through this project, which should allow me to improve my skyboxes going forward.
