This last week I worked mainly on the opening cinematic for our game. In this animation, the core of the game is introduced while the player rides in a car, which then crashes at the end of the cinematic. The cinematic I created used a looping road segment to move the ground under the car, while the player appeared to move. My animation proved to be incredibly problematic as the looping terrain made many processes later down the line much harder. My animation has been scrapped, however I gained valuable skills from this.
Throughout this last week I learned to use the UE4 Sequence editor to create a cinematic. This will be vitally important in the next part of the project as I will be re-doing this cutscene to work better for our project. Additionally, I learned how to make a looping terrain with a stationary character, which may come in handy with future games.
